FairWild Foundation welcomes new members to the Board of Trustees
Zürich, September 2021 - FairWild Foundation has recently welcomed several additional members to the Board of Trustees. The new appointments made in 2021 further strengthen the Foundation’s expertise and connections to the herbal products industry and other stakeholder communities at Board level, and will bring new insights based on a wealth of practical experience as well as personal commitment to FairWild’s mission.
Martin Schneider, PhD, is an industry expert in sourcing, field production and wild collection of herbal ingredients, and is Traditional Medicinals Inc.’s Strategic Sourcing Specialist for Europe and Africa.
Gus Le Breton has a 25+ year track record in ethical, biodiversity-friendly natural products-related businesses across Southern Africa. He is the co-founder of FairWild certified operation B’Ayoba in Zimbabwe and the current board chair of the African Baobab Alliance.
Anastasiya Timoshyna is the Senior Programme Coordinator – Sustainable Trade of TRAFFIC. She coordinates a programme of work to improve the sustainability of trade in wild species, including advising governments, developing private sector standards, engaging businesses and facilitating consumer behavioural change.
Sadly, 2021 also marked the end of the term of another FairWild Board member – Josef Brinckmann. Involved with the FairWild initiative since its founding in 2008, in this role Josef had demonstrated great commitment to combatting the challenges facing wild plant populations and the communities and enterprises that rely on them. The FairWild Foundation has benefitted greatly from his dedicated service on the Board, and is thankful that Josef will remain a member of the Foundation’s advisory panel in the future.
All Board members serve in their individual capacity, and do not act as representatives of any other organisation. Learn more here about the FairWild Board of Trustees and Secretariat here.
